Walden, College of Nursing, and Academic and Professional Goals

Being a nurse, I am keen on my academic and professional growth that can be achieved if I balance my goals with the values, vision, mission, and social change efforts of Walden University. My intention to become an effective scholar-practitioner who can transform society is supported by Walden.

The learning outcomes of the MSN program are imminent as I aspire to specialise in patient care and help improve social issues. Here, in this assignment, I will explain the mission, goals, and vision of Walden and how they can be related directly to my academic and professional ambitions. These principles and the goals of the MSN program will help me emphasise the process of my becoming a scholar-practitioner.

Walden’s Vision, Mission, Goals, and Social Change Initiatives

The vision of Walden University as a learning community that translates knowledge into major social problems fits my professional and academic goals (Raymond, n.d.). I would like to change society as a nurse. The goal of transforming career professionals into scholar-practitioners that Walden sets is similar to my vision of how I can use scholarship to make a difference.

The objectives of Walden are focused on multi-contextual learning and student-oriented programs. My development depends heavily on the combination of past knowledge and skills in academic tasks. Walden accepts and incorporates my nursing background and thinking in his teaching, which makes the experience more fulfilling.

I share the same professional view as Walden, who defines constructive societal change as the intentional human advancement (Raymond, n.d.). Nursing does not just attend to individuals only. I will be growing and giving back to society through informed practice and activism by studying at Walden.

Walden MSN Program Learning Outcomes

The learning outcomes of the Walden MSN program align with my academic and professional goals. To begin with, organisational/systems leadership aligns with my mission of advancing healthcare and nursing (Academics: College of Nursing: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), n.d.). I apply leadership and speciality nursing to implement systemic reforms to improve patient outcomes and bring the nursing profession to a new level.

Second, the modern healthcare setting is focused on evidence-based practice and critical thinking (Academics: College of Nursing: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), n.d.). As a scholar-practitioner, I always need to weigh and consult evidence-based literature in my practice choices. The focus of Walden on evaluating various theoretical perspectives enables me to interpret challenging healthcare situations and make the best-practice decisions that facilitate social change.

The health promotion of the MSN program that addresses disparities-reducing healthcare strategies aligns with my commitment to patient advocacy and proper care delivery (Academics: College of Nursing: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), n.d.). I employ planning, evaluation, and advocacy to decrease healthcare disparities and expand access to speciality nursing support to underserved populations.

Walden’s commitment to effective communication and professional development is comparable to my commitment to nursing excellence (Academics: College of Nursing: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), n.d.). Being a scholar-practitioner, I understand that patient care and success require good communication and lifelong learning.

Conclusion

To summarise it, the vision, mission, objectives and the social change initiatives of the Walden University in relation to the MSN Program integration are far more than I expected as a student and align with the aims and the learning outcomes. The commitment to the principle of scholar-practitioners, evidence-based practice, and social advocacy would help me feel certain that I will be able to transform health care in a positive way and become a key participant in the overall well-being of people.

Walden University wants to have reflective practitioners who would shine with their values of lifelong learning and ethical relations, who only speak volumes about what the school is hoping to become and its capacity to become the place I would love to work. I can not only promote efficient policies in the healthcare system, but I can also help to establish a more stable and standardised healthcare system.
