Explain Whether or Not the Policy/Regulation
Reform of the ONC Cures Act Final Rule will greatly improve the outcomes and productivity in the Healthline Clinical Care Center. The policy will ensure the availability of the required information to improve the cohesiveness of patient care by making more data available and compatible. This means that patients will have improved engagement and satisfaction as they are able to access their health records as an individual right. The aim to streamline the organizational working processes and pay attention to the effective information flow will produce organizational benefits, as the number of papers and potential mistakes in the manual data processing will be reduced.
Describe the Organizational Policy and Procedures that will
Healthline Clinical Care Center will have in place a number of organizational policies and procedures to respond to the improvements in outcomes and efficiencies provided by the ONC Cures Act Final Rule:
- Data Security: There should be sufficient security for the patient data to be exchanged and accessed by the stakeholders.
- Training Programs: Periodic training of its employees of new APIs, which are provided in the market and the principles that should be put into practice in case of interoperability (Gordon & Mandl, 2020).
- Patient Education: Creating awareness for patients as to how they can obtain their health data and how to use emerging technologies to manage it.
- Compliance Monitoring: Assembling a compliance team that is oriented towards preventing any noncompliance with the regulation and managing problems related to information blocking.
- Regular Audits: Checkups on a regular basis to determine whether the systems put in place are operating optimally and check whether the organization is adhering to policies or not.
The following are measures that will be implemented to ensure that, besides ensuring that Healthline Clinical Care Center is not in violation of the regulation, it also utilizes it as a way of enhancing the services offered to the patients and the running of the center.
